How would I install fog lights on my Subaru?

Fog Lights

I have a 98 Subaru impreza and I want to install some fog lights. I have open slot holes for the front bumper. I don’t know if the previous owner had them installed previously but I took a flashlight and looked through the empty holes and I found nothing. So I think that I would have to wire the lights my self or is it too challenging. I already have a designated button for the fog lights on the dashboard that you can actually press.

Its not too hard to do it. I did it on my ‘99 Subaru impreza but if he doesn’t already have the cables in there, you might want to either check in the manual on where the wiring schematics are, or just go to a shop and ask where to feed the wires if you want to do it yourself

Most all Subarus are prewired for the fog lights. You need to buy the kit from Subaru that comes with the instructions and tells you where the wires are. Check the website below for the kits.

For the fog light kits, OEM by subaru, it cost around 250 dollars even though your car is 10 years old. It comes with two lights, the button, and the relay/wires. Since you have the button, I expect that the previous owner took away the lights.
This one you need to search subaruparts.com, call them up at the phone number and ask them, usually the people are very nice and willing to help to locate the parts.
Or if you want the aftermarket parts, go to http://www.rallylights.com/ and ask them for the harness and relay. There you have better and more options of lights.
IF your bumper has the rectangle fog light openings, I will suggest you to get the lights from rallylights. But if you have the circular opening, then get the OEM kits and get a higher wattage bulbs (H3, I think).
